Let Maytag Help You Decide
What is a kitchen range?
Kitchen ranges are a combination of a cooktop and oven. These common kitchen appliances feature gas or electric heating elements and come in both slide-in and freestanding styles. Most cooking ranges feature at least four burners, and sometimes up to six. This allows you to cook multiple dishes at the same time. An oven/range combo fits most kitchens.
What is the difference between a range and an oven?
A range is a combination of a cooktop and an oven, while an oven can be part of a range or a separate appliance. Some kitchens feature ranges, while others have a wall oven installed in one part of the kitchen with a separate cooktop installed elsewhere. Some people even have both cooking ranges and wall ovens in their homes, allowing them to bake or roast numerous dishes at once.
