Great machine, at firstWe purchased MDBH970AWW Quiet Series 300 in September 2002. I love this dishwasher's capacity, especially the utensil basket and the longer knife and large utensil basket. It cleaned very well at first. The biggest problem we had with this machine was that the latch handle broke three times (2005, 2008, and 2012). The first time it was repaired, we had the Maytag repairman fix it, but he recommended that if it happened again we should just order the parts and replace the handle ourselves. I had to buy a special hex tool to loosen the screws on the door to make the repair, but in the long run, I saved money doing the job myself. The machine never did dry the dishes, despite using the heated dry setting. We always had to hand dry every load of dishes. In 2012, the machine began to leave debris on the dishes. In 2013, the machine sprung a leak underneath that we didn't discover until there was extensive damage to the flooring and neighboring cupboard. In Nov 2013, we replaced this unit with a KitchenAid, but I still really miss the loading flexibility and capacity of this Maytag.
